What do you guys think of the children if Africa????!!! easy best answer?

Do you have any idea how very LITTLE of support fom around the world genuinely gets to these poor kids?? It's ALL hype. They put pics of all these poor sufering little kids on the tv or internet to get your cash and less than 15% in truth gets to them. The rest is eaten up by administrative costs and advertising. If you in truth want to help, save your cash until you may go over yourself or join a church and become a missionary and do a lot of real help.

This is my list of the movies that inspire me the most. I am a movieholic and hope you guys find inspiration from this list. Enjoy the show

20. THE NOTEBOOK- A pretty love story which lasts decades

21. TITANIC- Is a movie set on the ill fated Titanic ship and it is in regards to a love story that formulates on the ship

22. SEA BISCUIT- True story of the undersized Depression-era racehorse whose victories lifted not only the spirits of the team behind it but also those of their nation

23. RAY-True life story of Ray Charles and his astounding story of overcoming the impossible

24. PAY IT FORWARD- About the miraculous story of how a young boy changes the lives of a great deal of humans through the simple act of good deeds

25. THE BUCKET LIST- About two old timers who determine to do all the things they have always wanted to do before they die of their terminal illnesses

26. MILK- About the life of Harvey Milk the introductory in an open way gay man elected to public office in America in the 70s. It is in regards to his affect on the gay rights movement. One of the best movies I have ever seen.

31. THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK- Based on the life of Anne Frank who hides from the NAZI for the duration of the invasion

32. GLORY : The story of the initial company of black soldiers in the American civil war

33. LIFE SUPPORT- the story of a mother with AIDS who overcomes crack addiction becomes an AIDS activist in her community

34. BABE- A pig which is raised by sheep dogs learns how to herd sheep

35. WHATS LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT- The amazing life story of the great entertainer Tina Turner and the awful obstacles that she overcame

36. HOTEL RWANDA- The unfeigned life story of a man who sheltered thousands of Rwandans for the duration of the Rwandan genocide from peril and death

37. G1 JANE- Is with regards to the firstborn woman in permitted in the navy seals and big obstacles in her way

38. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD- Based in racially torn 1939 Alabama and it is regarding the hearing of a black man accused of raping a white woman

39. GLORY ROAD- Is based on the true story of the introductory all black basketball line-up for the 1966 NCAA national basketball championship title

40. SARAFINA- About the Soweto youth riots versus apartheid in South Africa

41. AMISTAD- Is regarding an 1839 mutiny of slaves on a slave ship

42. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE- The story of a slum kid who grows up and plays the Indian version of Who wants to be a Millionaire

43. AMERICAN HISTORY X- A reformed Neo-Nazi comes out of prison and tries to stop his younger brother going the same path he did

44. THE PIANIST- A pianist tries to survive the Nazi invasion

45. SCHINDLERS LIST- Based on the true story of the business man Oscar Schindler who saves thousands of Jews from the Nazi machine for the duration of world war 2

46. BOYS DON'T CRY- A story in regards to the courage to be who you veritably are in the midst of horrid opposition

47. CHOCOLAT- About a mother and daughter who move into a conservative narrow minded French town in 1960 and shake things up

48. MALCOLM X- The unfeigned life story of Malcolm X an influential black humane rights activist

49. OLIVER TWIST- Based on Charles Dickens movie regarding a young orphan boy and the difficultnesses he finds as he tries to survive in a harsh world

50. THE JESSE OWENS STORY- The true story in regards to Jesse Owens the African American athlete who proved Hitler faulty when it comes to the Aryan physical superiority

I love these movies. If you have not seen a heap of of them check them out you have not one thing to lose. To your life!

One of the most moving books I've read for years

Occasionally in the past I've read newspaper articles reporting that there are African countries where one person in four is HIV positive, or where a third of the population is expected to die of AIDS. Somehow, these extraordinary numbers never quite seemed real to me. Until I read this book.

Children of Aids is just a collection of stories, but they are all true, and they are more moving than any fiction I've read for years. There's the Kenyan girl who sells her virginity for an apple, because no one has ever given her a present. There's an extraordinary 17 year old whose parents died of AIDS and who is now left raising her brothers in a dusty South African township. And there's a Zambian grandmother who's lost five out of eight of her children to what she believes is witchcraft.

Guest has taken the trouble to listen to a lot of people's stories, and she recounts them with warmth, sympathy and a page-turning narrative style. Her great achievement is to take a global calamity and show what it means for ordinary individuals.

If you read only one book on this topic, THIS SHOULD BE THE ONE

Emma Guest is an extraordinary writer and a superlative interviewer. In her capable hands, a tragedy of horrific proportions---almost too enormous for any one person to comprehend---is discussed through the experiences of individual human beings, so that what is a global health disaster becomes a series of brilliant essays about one person and one family at a time. Politicians and World Bank officials are wont to use vast statistics to make their points, whilst a sensitive, extraordinary writer such as Emma Guest has gone into the heart of the continent of Africa to interview, with enormous sensitivity and empathy, the hapless children who, through absolutely no action of their own, have been dealt a tragic hand. This is a rare book by a rare human being, who has used her time in Africa to elucidate the fate of millions through the stories of a well-selected few.
I cannot praise this book highly enough: I can only recommend it without reservation to readers from all countries, but especially the richer nations of the planet, so that they may truly understand the crisis that is afflicting so many innocent children. A truly brilliant book.

Heart breaking - A must read

This is one of the best books I have ever read about the AIDS crises. Reading this book it is hard to believe that this is happening in our world, in the 21st century.
The stories are sad and heart breaking, they bring you close to tears. This book makes you want to get up and do something for those neglected and abandoned children. It makes you realize how lucky you are if you have a roof over your head, food, clothes, good health and a family.
And if all of us "lucky" people would only spend a little bit of time, love and money to help those kids, all this suffering would not be necessary.
This book actually provides names & addresses/websites you can contact if you really want to help. So go out and buy this book, you don't even have to read it, just help some of those children!!
This book is out of print - get it while it is still available!!!!!
