5This is all you need to pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By James
I purchased this book off of Amazon.com a couple of weeks ago. I read the book at my leisure for about half of the book. I finished the other half on a flight from DC to Dallas, TX. On my way back to DC I took the sample test at the back of the book. On the sample test, I made a 23/40. This was a failing grade. As you need 26/40 to pass the actual exam. So, while it flight, I went back and tried to get an understanding of why I missed what I missed. It made complete sense. Once the plane landed, my wife picked me up from the airport. We went home, relaxed, prepared for bed. The next morning I went and took the actual EXIN ITIL V3 exam. Guess what? I made a 85% on the exam using just this book as my study guide. This book REALLY IS all you need to learn the material and pass. Besides, it is only like 150 pages of actual text to read. The rest is the sample exam and solutions. I took and passed the exam this past Monday September 12, 2011. It was a $169.00 well spent. In all I spent $209.00 towards getting ITIL V3 certified. $40.00 was for this book and $169.00 was for the exam. Why spend more?

4I used this guide, I passed the examination
By John Howze
This guide is the "official" preparation aid for the ITIL Foundations certification. It's a sufficient aid to pass the examination, assuming you've got some experience in an ITIL organization. This book was my key study aid (I gave up on the handbook) and I scored 92.50% with about 20 hours of prep. The questions for each chapter, and the sample examination are definitely representative of the actual exam.

5Excellent reference
By KK
I have worked with IT operations and have been applying ITIL on a daily basis for the past 3 years. I wanted to acquire market place acknowledgments for my skill and choose to get certified. This is the first book I considered, I bought it.

I did a Element K course and used this book as a reference. Cleared my test, it was a breeze after 10 hours of skimming through these references.

Speaking of the material itself, its 5 star material.

PROs
1). Really concise text
2). Running examples / story line for the ones who are just getting started with ITIL
3). Really good illustrations
4). Very realistic mock test and after chapter reviews
5). Excellent print quality and text, well proof read and written.
(Superficial elements include the size of the book - Very handy and fits in portable pouches)
Note: If you work in ITSM , you may be tempted to keep this around to promote better use of terminology.

CONs
1). Lack of availability - I went to a Barnes and nobles and a couple of other stores. None of them had it, not even in their systems. I hear from my British colleges, that the text is more easily available in Europe or at least UK.
